The Ultimate Spoonie Calculator

Spoon's are what people with chronic illness refer to when they are talking about their energy. Calculating how much your body can take before you over exert yourself is essential. If you go over the amount of energy your body can handle that day (or spoons) it will eat up your next day's spoons.

Calculating how many spoons you have in a day is extremely helpful for spoonies (people with chronic illness) If they get a good idea and understanding then they can plan accordingly. "That takes too many spoons I can't do that today." "I want to go out with friends so i'll save up my spoons today so I can go out tomorrow" etc. etc.

How to start: It's easy, everyone will do this slightly different it's not rocket science. Make a guess on a scale of one to ten how much energy it takes you to do each activity. Take notice. On days you have over worked yourself make a note, It's obvious you used too many spoons that day. Make sure you break down literally every activity you do, driving, being a passenger while driving, brushing your teeth, going to the mail box etc. After collecting this data for two weeks, you will have a great idea how many spoons each activity will cost you and how many spoons you have in a day.

Walaha one more way your chronic illness is manageable.
